Image enhancement

SubtleMR sits downstream of reconstruction rather than replacing it, which makes it deployable on existing scanners from any manufacturer. That vendor independence is the commercial argument and it is a real one for a department running mixed equipment.

Where It Is Used

  • Accelerated MRI protocols
  • Motion-prone and pediatric imaging
  • Legacy scanner image quality improvement

Limitations Worth Knowing

Enhancement models improve apparent quality, and apparent quality is not the same as information content. Detail that was not acquired cannot be recovered, and a smoother image can read as a better one while carrying no additional diagnostic signal.

Regulatory status, indications, and labeling change over time. Confirm current status on the FDA's AI/ML-Enabled Medical Devices list and in the manufacturer's current instructions for use before relying on anything stated here.
